Camp Rio at the Historic Camp Lula Sams

IMG_1938The 85.7 acre tract known as Camp Lula Sams was built by the Earl C Sams Foundation and gifted to the Girl Scouts of South Texas in 1953. Over the years the camp has served as a venue for life lessons by thousands of children. With your help, this will continue. A movement is underway to protect the property from fragmentation. A conservation easement is planned to permanently protect 75 acres of the forested areas which serves as crucial habitat for many protected and threatened species.4O1A1326
