Texas Photo Ranch

Texas_Photo_Ranch_1The River Ranch has been in the same family for over 125 years! Great pride and care have gone into conserving the land and the animals that call it home. This is one of the most beautiful ranches in South Texas and a veritable playground for photographers. The 3000 acres that make up the Texas Photo Ranch have a wide variety of topography including: wetlands, south texas brush, huge oak trees, riparian woods, lakes and a river. Wildlife is abundant and include birds, large and small mammals, alligators, amphibians and many different kinds of insects.

We have five blinds set up solely for photographers and bird watchers – no hunting from blinds. Each blind can seat three birders or photographers comfortably and has its own water hole and feeder that is kept full year round. Many birds including Green Jays, Painted Buntings, Road Runners and song birds frequent the blinds. Four of the blinds are set up for song birds and the like while one is set up just for raptors and predators.

In an effort to share the beauty and majesty our family has enjoyed over the years, we have decided to invite photographers, birders, students and schools to come and enjoy.
