The Images for Conservation Home Towns of Nature Photography are represented by the conventions and visitors bureaus of the home town cities and are significant partners in the development of the private lands Nature Photo Tourism Industry. Their role will be both as marketing the industry and beneficiaries of the industry. Convention and Visitor Bureau's (CVB's) primary reason for existence is destination marketing. Most CVBs are funded directly from a share of the hotel/motel occupancy tax. The development of the industry will fill hotel/motel rooms on a growing scale. Images for Conservation's long-term goal is to bring 20,000 to 50,000 nature photographers to each region. The net result will be room occupancy, job creation, increase quality of life, and most important conservation of wildlife.
The Texas Hill Country
Kerrville, Fredericksburg and Bandera were the inaugural Home Towns of Nature Photography. Recognizing the opportunity to participate in growing new industry these three convention and visitor bureaus, representing their respective cities, joined together to sponsor the first Images for Conservation Pro-Tour of Nature Photography in the Hill Country of Texas. Images for Conservation has enjoyed helping these cities and the Hill Country Ranches they represent participate in the Nature Photo Tourism Industry.

The Coastal Bend of Texas
The development of the second Images for Conservation Fund Pro-Tour of Nature Photography would not have been possible without the support of Kingsville and Corpus Christi Convention and Visitor Bureaus. The Coastal Bend of Texas region enthusiastically endorsed the vision of the Pro-Tour and the new Nature Photo Tourism Industry. There are presently three Images for Conservation ranches developing for wildlife photography and marketing to the traveling photographer market.
A new website is the Bird the Bend Web site which has been created to provide a source for information related to birding and birding destinations in the Texas Coastal Bend region.
Borderlands Region
The third Pro-Tour of Nature Photography is scheduled for the Borderlands of Laredo Texas in 2010. Laredo and the CVB are major partners in the 2010 Pro-tour, the accompanying events and the development of the industry. The region surrounding Laredo is one of the richest in biodiversity and yet one of the least photographed areas in the United States.
