Lynda Richardson

"My dad's love of taking pictures and the gift of a Kodak Instamatic when I was in third grade," is what Lynda would tell you spurred a passion for photography that continues to this day. As a working professional for the past 20-plus years, this talented photographer began her career handling assignments for the Associated Press, U.S. News, Time and other prestigious, national news outlets. She later made the commitment to focus exclusively on wildlife and environmental photojournalism - a commitment made when she realized that nature was where her "heart" was.

Was it a good choice? Nature's Best magazine thought so when Lynda was recognized as one of the top outdoor women photographers. Today, the energetic shooter finds the time to teach and write while tackling projects across the globe for the likes of the Smithsonian, National Wildlife and The Nature Conservancy. With her "beyond the call of duty" work ethic, unique perspectives and high degree of technical expertise it's no surprise her award winning work in the field attracts the national and international audience that it does.

And what makes a truly great nature photograph? Lynda unhesitatingly volunteers, "It takes your breath away when you see it, it surprises you, or, it teaches you something about the subject - preferably, all three."
