Award-winning, South Texas images featured at downtown branch in honor of environmental conservation
(March 4, 2011) AUSTIN, Texas – IBC Bank – Austin will host a photo exhibit from the Images for Conservation “Images for Conservation, Book Three: Borderlands Edition,” at their downtown branch at Congress and Ninth Street, beginning Saturday, March 5 through March 19. The exhibit is free to the public during regular bank operating hours.
The exhibit features a vivid, full-color collection of over 300 photographs of spectacular wildlife from Webb and adjacent South Texas counties taken by 20 professional nature photographers from throughout North and South America and Europe. Each photographer was paired with a border-region ranch to create 20 competitive 2010 Pro-TourTM Photography Contest teams.
“IBC Bank is honored to help promote the importance of protecting our state’s environment by hosting this exhibition,” said IBC Bank – Austin President & CEO Bob Barnes. “The public will have the opportunity to admire our state’s natural beauty and learn more about the Images for Conservation Fund, an organization we have proudly supported for many years.”
2010 marked the fifth consecutive year IBC was the Pro-Tour official bank and sponsor. In appreciation of IBC’s involvement in our mission, Images for Conservation dedicated the book that features last year’s top images to IBC Bank – Zapata CEO Renato Ramirez. Ramirez’s ranch, El Veleno, was selected as one of the 20 ranches involved in last year’s contest. The photo submitted from the El Veleno team placed in the top three.
Images for Conservation Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, creates sustainable development of rural economies through the establishment and prosperity of the Private Lands Nature Photo Tourism Industry. Nature Photography has the unique ability to preserve habitat permanently by making it profitable.
