Images for Conservation News

The ICF Symposium and The Pro-Tour Launch Party were both Great Successes!

We would like to thank all of the volunteers who make these events possible, especially: Claire Vaughan, Shelly Plante, Bob Petersen, Sarah Steves, George Vaughan, Diane Smith, Sherwood & Bebe Inkley, Larry Jones, and many, many more.

See below for a list of Landowner/Photographer Teams for the 2006 Pro-Tour!

Click here for more Photos from the ICF Symposium and the Pro-Tour Launch Party!

The inaugural Images for Conservation Symposium, held March 18th, was an overwhelming success. It was attended by almost 200 photographers and landowners from across the state, who were eager to learn from pro nature photographers and ecotourism experts brought together for this special event. The attendees were treated to some outstanding presentations, throughout the day, and the success of the Symposium further demonstrates the growing interest in this exciting new industry!

Later that evening, about 200 people gathered at the Gallagher Headquarters to celebrate the exciting and historic beginning of the 2006 Pro-Tour of Nature Photography. Good food and great fun were had by all. The highlight of the evening was the matching of Texas Hill Country Landowners and Pro Photographers into teams for the 2006 Pro-Tour, where they will compete for a share of $160,000 in prize money! The party also featured the birds of prey from Last Chance Forever, a trick roper from the Dixie Dude Ranch, and deluxe Storyboard profiles for all of the Pro-Tour Landowners (donated by Sherwood & Bebe Inkley). Also, Herndon Panoramic was there to capture this historic event with a wide-angle portrait of the Launch Party guests. Copies of the panoramic are available for only $25. To order, call (210) 496-5141.
