ICF Announces Landowner
Finalists
ICF has announced the 20 landowner finalists to participate
in the 2006 Pro-Tour of Nature Photography. These outstanding
Texas Hill Country landowners have been selected from a field
of 94 applicants, each with at least 500 acres of wildlife
habitat. Many of the final 20 are committed to establish nature
photo tourism businesses directly after the Pro-Tour, creating
a dynamic regional destination for wildlife photographers
everywhere.

Publicity

TMI to Host 2006 Pro-Tour
Symposium, March 18, 2006
The Texas Military Institute (TMI) will host the Symposium for
the 2006 Pro-Tour on March 18, 2006. The Symposium is open to
the public and will feature programs on (1) improving your nature
photography, and (2) starting a nature photo tourism business
on your land. Founded in 1893, TMI is the oldest Episcopal Church-sponsored
college-preparatory school in the Southwest. For more information,

Gallagher Headquarters Ranch
to Host 2006 Pro-Tour Launch Party, March 18, 2006
The Gallagher Headquarters is Texas' first dude ranch opening
in 1927. The Headquarters is comprised of hacienda style buildings
set within a walled compound of several acres of lush green
lawns and gardens that can accomodate up to 500 guests in the
central courtyard alone. Over two thousand acres of surrounding
property affords privacy and serenity, even though the Ranch
is only minutes from the city limits. It is available for day

LCRA'S Canyon of the Eagles
Facility to Host Pro-Tour Judging
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) will host the Pro-Tour
judging May 22-27, 2006, at Canyon of the Eagles. This unique
recreation destination features a lodge, nature park, and conference
center overlooking the serene waters of Lake Buchanan. The beautiful
facility also includes 14 miles of nature trails, a five mile
recreation area, an observatory, canoeing and kayaking and casual

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower
Center to Host Pro-Tour Book Dedication
Team 20 world-class nature photographers with 20 major landowners
for one month, and what do you get? An unprecedented collection
of nature photography! To share these extraordinary images of
the Texas Hill Country, ICF will produce a commemorative book
from the 2006 Pro-Tour. The book will be dedicated to former
First Lady and legendary Texas conservationist Lady Bird Johnson,
and the book dedication event will be hosted by the Lady Bird
Johnson Wildflower Center outside Austin, Texas, in late 2006.

ICF at Expo 2005
ICF will be an exhibitor at the Texas Parks & Wildlife Expo
2005. The Expo is the largest outdoor show in Texas. It takes
place October 1-2 at the Texas Parks & Wildlife campus in Austin,

ICF at the 8th World Wilderness
Congress
ICF Board members John Martin and Roberto Zambrano will participate
in the 1st Conservation Photography Symposium to be held in
Anchorage, Alaska from Oct 2-5 of this year. John and Roberto
are part of a roundtable discussion entitled �Conservation and
Private Lands: The Need for Financial Incentives� and the �Project
Sharing Panel." The Photography Symposium, which is part of
the 8th World Wilderness Congress, is the first-ever gathering
of photographers concerned about conservation, including Michael
"Nick" Nichols, David Doubilet, Joel Sartore, Art Wolfe and
many others. The outcomes of the meeting include a Global Visual
Strategy for Conservation centered around photography and a
number of important resolutions. All photographers interested

National Conference
ICF Chairman John F. Martin and Miles Phillips, Nature Tourism
Coordinator for the A&M; Texas Cooperative Extension, will be

New Book Celebrates the
2004 Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photo Contest
Visions of South Texas: Beyond the Ranch Gate is
the sixth book in a valuable collection. It offers an outstanding
collection of wildlife images, all winners of the 2004 Valley
Land Fund (VLF) Wildlife Photo Contest. The book is designed,
produced and printed in south Texas, and it showcases the extraordinary
beauty and biodiversity of the region�s wild life. Visions

Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo
Contest Awards: Sept. 11, 2005
Winners of the 2005 Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest will
be named at their biennial Awards Banquet and Winning Photography
Premiere. This will be the first opportunity to see the award-winning
images from this challenging and prestigious competition. The
event takes place in Corpus Christi at the Bayview Ballroom
of the American Bank Center-Convention Center. The fes tivities

ICF Vice-Chair Connie Bransilver had two
p hotos published in the June issue of Outdoor Photographer
magazine, and a three-page article entitled "Digital in the
Extreme" in the July issue. Connie is a professional nature
photographer, writer and speaker based in Florida. She is a
former president of the North American Nature Photography Association
(NANPA). Her newest book is Wild Love Affair: Essence of
Florida's Native Orchids, published by Westcliffe Publishers.

Pro-Tour Photographers Wendy Shattil and Bob
Rozinski have been busy, with the release of their new book
Valley of the Dunes last month (see www.dancingpelican.com).
They have been invited to give a program at the 8th World Wilderness
Congress in Anchorage, Alaska, in early October 2005. They also
have written an article appearing in the June 2005 issue of
Outdoor Photographer about creative blind-making, featuring
blinds from their participation in the Valley Land Fund Wildlife
Photo contest.
