John
Hendrickson has published thousands of images in books, magazines,
calendars, posters, and note cards. His award winning photographs
have been exhibited in over forty of America's major museums. His
extensive list of publishers includes National Geographic, Sierra
Club, Time-Life, National Wildlife, Audubon, Newsweek, Nature Conservancy,
Outdoor Photographer, and many others. John has illustrated and
authored several books, and has many front covers to his credit.
He is considered to be an extremely dedicated and patient photographer,
willing to spend days working on a single photograph.
From
a boyhood passion for nature, Hendrickson went on to receive Master's
degrees in both Field Biology and Environmental Education. He is
a life-long naturalist, fully dedicated to sharing with others his
knowledge and the beauty he finds in nature
Quite
simply, John describes his work as an attempt to capture the "magic"
he sees and feels. John strives to show his subjects in relationship
to their environment, stressing a finished whole. His intimate visions
provide a window into a world that few people have the opportunity,
time or patience to experience. In John's own words, "Through photography,
I try to create something beautiful to experience, but most importantly,
I hope the photographs will remind us of the living beauty. Perhaps
then, in some small way, we will all be more motivated to preserve
our environment."
