World-renowned
outdoor and nature photographer George Lepp has been traveling from
his home on California's coast to photograph around the world for
the past 25 years. Through his photo workshops, lectures, books,
newsletters, "Tech Tips" column in Outdoor Photographer, and articles
in Outdoor Photographer and PC Photo magazines, he has shared his
extensive photographic and naturalist knowledge. George also is
a founding board member of the North American Nature Photography
Association (NANPA).
George's
university studies in the field of wildlife biology give him a strong
foundation of knowledge about his photographic subjects. He earned
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Photography from the Brooks
Institute of Photography in 1972, and was awarded an Honorary Master
of Science in Professional Photography in 1985, in recognition of
his achievements in natural science photography.
George
educates photographers through seminars, workshops, and consulting
and writing. His popular seminar series, Optimizing the Possibilities
and The Digital Desktop Darkroom, attracts numerous photographers,
he and publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Natural Image, providing
techniques and valuable information to outdoor and nature photography
enthusiasts. He established the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging,
which features interactive workshops in a state-of-the-art digital
darkroom lab.
The
writings and photographs of George have been widely published in
books, including: Cannibal Soup, Bonneville Salt Flats, Vintage
Car Racing, Beyond the Basics, Beyond the Basics II, and Canon Lenses.
His magazine publications include: Time, Natural History, People,
Science, Discover, Sports Illustrated, Photomethods, Photo District

George's
work has been displayed in several museums and galleries, including:
Oakland Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Los Angeles
County Museum of Natural History, Brooks Institute of Photography,
the International Center of Photography in New York, and Kodak's
corporate offices.
