Keith has been a professional wildlife and nature photographer since 1983 when he moved with his wife and 3 children from his native Wisconsin to Livingston, Montana. Since that time, he has found himself fortunate enough to photograph many wonderful creatures and scenes from around the world. He has always had a fascination and love for wild creatures.
In the past, he has enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as just being out of doors. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin, receiving a bachelors degree in biology in 1976. A few years later, he picked up my first 35mm camera and it was love at first click. Since then Keith has given up the taking of game in favor of taking photographs.
During the ensuing years, his wildlife photography has appeared in publications worldwide. These include:Outdoor Life, National Wildlife, Ranger Rick, WildBird, BBC Wildlife and Arione (Italy) magazines. Keith’s photos have also appeared in Audubon and Sierra Club calendars andNational Geographic books and filmstrips as well as many other publications too numerous to mention here.
Keith’s photographic experiences have been many and varied. He has dealt with staggering heat as well as numbing cold. Many times he has enjoyed an animals company from dawn to dusk. He has thus been honored to witness and photograph its most intimate behavior, never having felt alarmed or threatened.
Keith has recently written a book for children called ‘Barrington Bear Visits the Emperor’. This is book one in the TRAVELS WITH BARRINGTON BEAR SERIES in which he not only took the photos and wrote the story but also designed and sewed Barrington and his clothes and designed the layout for the book.
While he used to take almost all wildlife photos, his direction has changed in recent years. Keith now sells fine art prints of my work at art shows across the country. His subject matter now includes many local and foreign landscapes as well as images of ethnic people from around the world.
